Girl trio Astrud Steehouder, Jessamine Tierney and Amy Hurst make up an exciting new act The Rayographs whose current single Francis/ Yellow Hair is on heavy rotation here at Snaz. Following on from their debut single “Hidden Doors” last year “Francis” is a eclectic combination of 60’s tribal garage, thundering rhythms and sweet haunting female vocals that set against the current crop of chart activists sounds like it comes from another planet. It is deceptively catchy yet requires a degree of intelligence sadly lacking in most modern recordings, ‘b’ side “Yellow Hair” is also a welcome addition and marks this band as an exciting and worthwhile prospect, and on this evidence something to look forward to.
